Defining a New Museum Experience, From the Ground-Up
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation (TRPLF) approached Code and Theory with a multi-faceted ask: to help them lay the foundation of their mission to establish the first “digitally-native” museum in the U.S.
A New Brand Identity
A man of diverse interests, points of view, and intellectual pursuits, our design system took references from his famous home library to showcase different facets of the Foundation—building the library, getting people involved, showcasing T.R.'s incredible life, and displaying the myriad artifacts that continue to represent him.
Website Design & Development
What we Did: We designed the website to be able to tell stories through a differentiated, digitally-native museum experience.
Client Results: Accordingly, immersion, flexibility, and, importantly, the ability of the site to scale with the ongoing digitization of T.R.’s life and the project’s progress were paramount.
Social Content Strategy
What we Did: To create a varied content calendar that spoke to different audience interests, our social strategy showcases T.R.’s depth and complexity, focusing on his life, myriad accomplishments, and famous T.R.-isms that we still use today.
Client Results:
Sizzle Video
What it is: 2 minute sizzle video used for the promotion on TR, his legacy, and promotion of what the library will become and how to get involved.
Code & Theory Results: We sought to redefine what it means to bring physical spaces to life through digital innovation. To generate both excitement and fundraising engagement, we created a video that crystallizes the Foundation’s vision for their digitally-native museum, positioning the TRPLF as a thought leader in bringing cultural institutions to life digitally.
